Thailand’s “Amazing Beach Life Festival” Set to Illuminate Green Season Tourism
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is set to launch the “Amazing Beach Life Festival” across Rayong, Phang-Nga, Phuket, and Songkhla from this month through next, aiming to invigorate tourism during Thailand’s green season.
Dr. Phonpoom Vipattipumiprates, Vice Minister of Tourism and Sports, emphasized the festival’s role in advancing Thailand’s tourism goals, stating, “The project underscores our ‘Ignite Tourism Thailand’ vision to establish Thailand as a premier tourism destination and a global event hub, targeting a tourism revenue of 3.5 trillion Baht this year and beyond.”
TAT’s initiative focuses on boosting interest in Thailand’s green season, and a series of major events are scheduled for the latter part of the year.
Rayong, Phang-Nga, Phuket, and Songkhla were chosen for their established status as popular tourist spots.
Mr. Apichai Chatchalermkit, TAT Deputy Governor of Tourism Products and Business, elaborated, “The festival aims to attract both international and domestic tourists, particularly those with strong purchasing power and a keen interest in beach lifestyles. It aims to distribute tourism benefits widely across local communities in these four beach destinations and nearby attractions during the off-season.”
The festival will commence at Laem Charoen Beach in Rayong from July 12-14, followed by Phang-Nga from July 26-28. Phuket’s Patong Beach will host the third edition from August 2-4, with Songkhla’s Chalatat Beach concluding the festivities from August 9-11.
Activities include various water sports like Sup-Board Surfskate, live music performances by renowned Thai artists, DJ sets, beach tattoo parties, and DIY workshops featuring beach-themed art on wooden trays and keychains. Local arts and crafts fairs, food trucks, beach bars, and fashion showcases will also be part of the lineup.
Each venue will highlight its unique identity through art installations and inflatable landmarks.
The event underscores TAT’s commitment to sustainable tourism practices, featuring eco-friendly decorations and a booth highlighting Thailand Tourism Award-winning sustainable businesses.
TAT is collaborating with Global Chemical (PTTGC) on waste management initiatives.
Mr. Chaya Chandavasu, Executive Vice President of Sustainability at PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC), noted, “Our ‘YOUTURN Platform’ will promote responsible tourism by engaging visitors in waste management activities. Participants can join DIY sessions to upcycle plastic waste into keychains or beads and explore sustainable fashion items by ‘Revife Fiber by GC UPCYCLING’ at UPTOYOU, our apparel brand.”
