Bar Magritte Unveils Floral-Inspired Cocktails for Brussels’ Iconic Flower Carpet
As Brussels gears up for its famed Flower Carpet event, Hotel Amigo’s Bar Magritte is celebrating with a new cocktail menu inspired by this floral extravaganza. From August 15th to 18th, the Grand Place will be transformed into a vivid tapestry of blooms, a tradition that enchants visitors every two years.
Located just a short stroll from the Grand Place, Bar Magritte, the world’s first bar dedicated to Belgian Surrealist René Magritte, is offering four unique cocktails crafted to reflect the spirit of both surrealism and the Flower Carpet. Available until August 31st, these drinks showcase seasonal flavors and inventive twists.
Guests can savor:
- La Vie En Rose: A sparkling blend of rose and peach notes, with vodka infused with hibiscus, vine peach liqueur, champagne, lemon juice, and rose syrup.
- Purple Haze: A delicate mix with hints of sourness, featuring Roku gin, elderflower liqueur, butterfly pea tea, lime juice, and passion syrup.
- Flower Power: Light and aromatic, this cocktail combines cachaça, elderflower, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and almond syrup.
- Garden of Eden (non-alcoholic): A refreshing drink with yuzu, apple juice, lemon juice, matcha syrup, egg white, and tarragon leaf.
This year’s Flower Carpet marks a departure from tradition, with dahlias taking the spotlight over begonias. The 23rd edition, designed by street artist Océane Cornille, ushers in a fresh, youthful aesthetic.
Bar Manager Hassan Guilich expressed, “The inspiration behind this collection is rooted in the vibrant tradition of the Flower Carpet event, which celebrates the summer with breathtaking floral displays that adorn our city. Each cocktail aims to evoke the beauty and fragrance of these blooms – a sensory experience that mirrors the colorful and festive spirit of this unique Brussels tradition.”
Bar Magritte also features a diverse menu of 20 cocktails by renowned mixologist Salvatore Calabrese, all inspired by René Magritte’s surreal artistry. The bar’s décor continues the theme with vibrant, mural-like wallpaper echoing Magritte’s distinctive style.
